Project type: Communication Design
Objective: Design a unique brochure for the Marimekko, With Love exhibition. It must fit on an 8.5" x 11" page.
Solution: Since Marimekko is known for colourful patterns, I wanted to make my brochure literally look like one of their products: a dress. I found an origami dress tutorial that happened to make perfect sections for text within the folds. Then I just had to fit all the text and graphics.
The hardest part of this project was folding the brochure. Since the text was crammed pretty tightly into the sections, even a small folding mistake could throw everything off.
All the artwork and photos were from the Marimekko website. The Art Gallery logo is borrowed from the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria.
